In line with providing an insight into Kinetic’s progression over the last 25 years, biographies of employees from various departments will periodically appear in this section.

Born 1969 in Sale, Cheshire and educated in Cheltenham and Northampton, Miles declined the university route to business for a move into the private sector straight after secondary education.

Following two years working in the accounts office of a large food processor and manufacturer (Whitworths Ltd), his sales career started by selling shoes out of the boot of a car for a small local importer of men’s footwear. After one year and 60,000 miles in a Ford Sierra, Miles decided to move into solution sales and spent the next seven years working for both Pearl Assurance Ltd and Prudential Assurance Ltd, as a Financial Advisor (gaining his F.P.C qualifications), specialising in investment and retirement planning.

1999 was a pivotal year for Miles; increased legislation and reduced rewards in the Financial Services sector led to a career change. This saw Miles move into I.T and Telecoms recruitment with Parity. An “affair of the heart” instigated his relocation to Dublin, where he continued his career in the recruitment industry. Adjacent to Miles’ success in recruitment, his football team, Manchester United won an unprecedented treble. Miles remembers thinking, “surely life couldn't get any better than this!”

However, true to the adage saying, that home is where the heart is, Miles relocated back to the UK after 6 months of failing to settle in Dublin. Returning back to both his roots and the Red Devils, settling back in Manchester was easy. Miles’ career continued to progress well and he gained a managerial role with T.M.P Worldwide Ltd, where subsequently, he had a very successful three years running and growing a team of I.T and Telecoms Recruitment Consultants covering the M62 corridor up to the Scottish Boarder.

Overall, the highlight of his time with T.M.P was meeting his future wife to be. At the end of 2002, Miles was poached by Xansa U.K Ltd and worked with them to develop new and existing 'strategically important' accounts for the company’s recruitment, education and training division. Following a successful first twelve months, internal restructuring led Miles to set up his own company, specialising in business improvement consultancy.

Miles’ initial relationship with Kinetic occurred in December 2003, when he was introduced to the company by a mutual business acquaintance. Over the past four years Miles has worked closely with Kinetic’s senior management and business stakeholders to develop and drive change through Kinetic’s strategy for growth; enabling the business to become a leading provider of recruitment solutions in its chosen niche markets.

Miles has directly aided Kinetic via driving the strategic sales strategy forward around point of sale marketing, structured account planning, management of bid / tender processes and balanced scorecard evolution. Additionally, a key milestone that has aided Kinetic’s recent growth and success is the product design, implementation and leadership of the Search and Selection (permanent recruitment) brand.

Over the same period, Miles has worked tirelessly to develop his professional skills and qualifications around business and process improvement; accolades to this include an I.O.D Diploma in Company Direction, being accredited as a ‘Prince 2 Practitioner’ Project Manager and Green Belt qualification in Lean and Six Sigma principles.

Away from work Miles is a loyal season ticket holder at Manchester United; incidentally, the first game he attended was a friendly against Real Madrid in 1976, which Manchester United won 6 - 3. When there is no football to watch, Miles pursues his other pastimes. He is a keen gardener, enjoys quality French wines and has recently grown a passion for acquiring original and limited edition art from known artists such as Fabian Perez, Rolf Harris, Henderson Cisz and Paul Kenton. Miles is due to marry in June 2008.
