Our People

Our people are the heart of our business, and to emphasise the importance of the collective, Kinetic plc became an Employee Owned business in April 2018. Shareholding was transferred to the Kinetic Employee Ownership Trust for the benefit of all employees.

This has achieved the goals of preserving the long-term independence of the company and recognising the commitment of all employees by enabling a share in the profits of the company.

Affiliations, Memberships and Accreditations

Recruitment and Employment Confederation

Kinetic Recruitment Services is a Corporate Member of the REC. Corporate membership is awarded upon successful completion of compliance tests every 2 years. Our consultants fully promote its code of practice to customers and candidates. Kinetic consultants undertake Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Recruitment Resourcing/Practice or a Recruitment Apprenticeship within their first two years of employment.

Accredited Quality Standard

Kinetic Recruitment Services is certified to ISO 9001 quality management system standard.

Holding a certificate issued by the internationally recognised accredited conformity assessment body DNV demonstrates to our customers and stakeholders that we are committed and able to consistently deliver high quality services.

Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority

Kinetic Recruitment Services (ref KINE0001) are licensed by the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. The licensing scheme regulates businesses who provide workers to the fresh produce supply chain and horticulture industry, to make sure they meet the employment standards required by law and to protect vulnerable and exploited workers.

Ben Sandell

Ben Sandell

Recruitment Consultant

Ben has been with Kinetic since November 2011 and works as a Managing Consultant from our North East office (Team Valley-Gateshead).

In 2013 Ben secured one of the largest accounts in Kinetic securing a 4-year project with Siemens, supplying over 250 temporary workers. In January 2017 Ben was promoted to Managing Consultant.
Ben has a love for travel after working in the industry before joining Kinetic and was able to visit many destinations that many could only dream of!

Joanna Heseltine

Managing Director

Joanna joined Kinetic in June 1994 as a Recruitment Consultant in Manchester and worked her way to become our Managing Director in 2022.
Nowadays you’ll find Jo based at our Gateshead office and is still happy to roll her sleeves up assisting the recruiters.
Jo’s passions include skiing, Take That and the mighty magpies, holding a season ticket to St James’ Park.

Karin believes as Managing Consultant for the Manchester Industrial team her focus is to mentor and support consultants in the delivery of a high-quality service.
Steve Taggart

Steve Taggart

Business Development Director

Steve joined Kinetic in September 1994 as a Recruitment Consultant in Manchester and worked his way to become our Business Development Director in 2022.
Steve’s previous experience includes nine years in the Royal Navy where he was employed as an NCO.
Steve says “It is reassuring to know that the Kinetic team has the capability to respond within their area of specialism and have the solutions, technology and robust processes needed to support our clients and candidates”

Learning and Development

Our induction and training program has been developed to ensure you have all the skills you require for your role at Kinetic Recruitment Services.

Alongside the vital on-the job training, all of our recruitment staff are also given the opportunity to complete one of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation apprenticeships to enhance their skills and knowledge of the recruitment industry.

You are provided with mentoring and operational support throughout your career by many of our long-standing employees, and ongoing development plans are reviewed annually to ensure you fulfil your potential.
