Environmental, Health and Safety Co-Ordinator


Kinetic Industrial are recruiting for an exciting position based in Glossop for an Environmental, Health and Safety Co-ordinator The Health and Safety Co-Ordinator will ideally have a background in a Manufacturing organisation, with strong experience in environmental permit compliance. They will be responsible for ensuring that all health, safety and environmental legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted across the site. Assisting in planning, implementation, monitoring and reviewing the protective and preventative measures adopted by the company and working to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries. *Making relevant changes to working practices ensuring they are all staff at site are safe and comply with legislation *Preparing and developing health, safety and environmental strategies and policies *Ensuring legal compliance with A2 Environmental Permit *Liaising with Regulatory bodies including the Local Authority and the HSE *Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced *Carrying out regular site inspections and self-assessment activities *Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks *Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements *Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers *Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all relevant legislation and any developments that affect the industry *Producing management reports and updating weekly reports *Maintaining registers of first aiders and licences throughout the site and ensuring all are up to date. *Working with Occupational Health provider to ensure all employees attend the correct and required assessments and reviews *Ensure all fire equipment is of the correct type and ensure fire and emergency procedures are kept up to date and co-ordinated in the event of a incident. *Ensuring that the collection, transport and disposal of all waste streams is controlled and in accordance with the relevant waste disposal and environmental protection regulations. *Ensure that all new buildings, plant, processes or equipment conform to the relevant Health and Safety rules and regulations. Relevant Skills and Experience: *Experience of Environmental permit compliance *Experience working within a Manufacturing organisation would be advantageous but not compulsory *Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team as well as individually *Experience working with external organisations as well as on site managers and personell to guide manage and support the business *Ability to manage own workload to ensure that you meet deadlines *Ability to be able to present data and findings, with a result driven and focused approach to work *Good IT Skills essential utilising both Microsoft packages such as Excel as well as own IN House IT Software and programmes.
