Maintenance engineer

Responsibilities: - Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations - Review job orders and determine work priorities - Direct workers and contractors engaged in machines, buildings and grounds maintenance activities - Develops and effective preventative maintenance program - Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities - Ensures that all certificates of compliance are maintained and up to date in accordance with relevant legislation - Responding quickly and effectively to any emergencies - Inspects operation machines and equipment for conformance with operation standards - Plans, develops and implements new methods and procedures to improve operation, minimise iterating costs, and effect greater utilisation of labour and materials - Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations - Directs training and induction on use of machines/tools as necessary to improve work performance and acquaint staff with company policies and procedures -Confers with management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and condition of machines and equipment - The post holder must also undertake other duties within his/her competence or otherwise appropriate to the grading of the post as required - Comply with the requirements for the role as set out within the employee handbook, accreditation manual and the health and safety manual, as updated from time to time - Comply with the requirements for the role as set out within the company's integrated management systems, as updated from time to time - Comply with the requirement of any core duties or other relevant procedural or policy document applicable to your role Requirements: - NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering or similar - Experience working on Mechanical and Electrical machinery - Glass machinery experience is preferable but not required
