Cable Winder PART TIME

Kinetic Manchester is working with a leading supplier in Blackley to recruit a Part Time Cable Winding / General Operative. As the Cable Winding Operative you'll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly while supporting safety, quality and environmental performance ***WE WILL CONDUCT A DRUGS AND ALCHOHOL TEST AT INTERVIEW STAGE WHICH MUST BE NEGATIVE IN ORDER TO START*** As the Cable Winder your Key duties include: *Receiving and understanding cutting orders from the production office *Handling drums and reels, ensuring materials match cutting instructions *Cutting cable orders, selecting suitable packaging and operating machinery correctly *Completing orders accurately using scanners or manual updates *Using and maintaining appropriate PPE, reporting any defects *Reporting accidents, incidents, problems or near misses *Identifying and managing non conforming products and recording scrap or returns *Keeping the work area tidy and ensuring strong housekeeping standards *Regularly checking tools and equipment, storing items safely and reporting issues *Taking actions to avoid environmental damage, including correct waste segregation and spill control *Carrying out any other tasks as directed by the shift team leader or manager We need the Cable Winding / General Operative to have *Strong numeracy and literacy *Excellent written and verbal communication *Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently *Hard working, self motivated and reliable *Awareness of safety requirements in a busy yard or industrial environment *Experience or understanding of production and quality processes *Problem solving abilities *NVQ or equivalent qualification in manufacturing *Must pass a Drugs and Alcohol test prior to start Job Details *£12.71ph *Hours: o Week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 08.30 - 1700 o Week 2 - Monday and Tuesday 08.30 - 1700 *Part time with the chance of full time in the future *Temporary to permanent position If you are looking for PART TIME work and will pass a drug and alcohol test then please do apply with an up to date CV.
