Cable Winder PART TIME

Kinetic Manchester is delighted to be recruiting a Part Time Cable Winding / General Operative for a leading supplier based in Blackley. This role is ideal for someone who wants consistent part time hours with the opportunity to grow into full time work in the future. As a part time Cable Winding Operative, you'll play an important part in keeping production running smoothly while supporting safety, quality and environmental standards across the site. Please note: A drug and alcohol test will be carried out at interview stage and must be passed prior to starting. Key Responsibilities of the Part Time worker: * Receiving and understanding cutting orders from the production office * Handling drums and reels and checking materials match instructions * Cutting cable orders, selecting packaging and operating machinery safely * Completing orders accurately using scanners or manual updates * Using and maintaining PPE and reporting any defects * Reporting accidents, incidents, problems or near misses * Identifying non conforming products and recording scrap or returns * Checking tools and equipment regularly and storing them safely * Following environmental procedures including waste segregation and spill control * Supporting the shift team leader or manager with any additional tasks What We're Looking For: * Experience or understanding of production and quality processes * Strong numeracy and literacy * Clear written and verbal communication * Ability to work well independently and as part of a team * Hard working, reliable and self motivated * Good awareness of safety in a busy industrial environment * Problem solving skills * Must pass a drug and alcohol test before starting Job Details * £12.71 per hour * Part time hours (rotating weekly): o Week 1: Wed, Thu, Fri - 08:30 to 17:00 o Week 2: Mon, Tue - 08:30 to 17:00 * Temporary to permanent opportunity * Free parking * Full training provided This role is specifically part time, so it's perfect for someone who wants regular hours without committing to a full time schedule right away.
