Mechanical Fitter

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established and growing engineering business in Durham. The role will involve working on a varied range of equipment, from large multi-stage, high-pressure units through to smaller industrial pumps. The successful candidate will be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair and re-assembly of various rotating equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Package - Up to £43,000 per annum Monday to Thursday 08:00 until 16:30 Friday 07:30 until 13:30 Company Pension Scheme Overtime rates applicable 23 days holidays per year plus Bank Holidays Responsibilities - * Disassemble, inspect and repair pumps and other rotating equipment * Re-assemble equipment to the required standards and specifications * Complete work within agreed deadlines and to a high standard * Assist with the preparation of technical reports in line with company and customer requirements * Work in accordance with relevant industry standards and company procedures * Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals * Identify equipment issues and assist with effective problem solving * Prioritise workloads to ensure agreed deadlines are achieved * Work as part of a small, skilled engineering team * Maintain a strong understanding of pumps and rotating equipment * Work flexibly and undertake overtime when required The Ideal Candidate - * Time-served Fitter/Engineer * Proven experience working with pumps and rotating equipment * Strong mechanical engineering background * Experience within a service, repair or workshop environment * Ability to accurately read technical drawings, schematics and manuals * Excellent problem-solving skills * Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively * Flexible approach to tasks and working hours * Reliable, conscientious and committed to delivering high-quality work Kinetic plc is a Recruitment Consultancy with over 40 years' experience delivering staffing solutions to the engineering, manufacturing and technical industries.
