CNC Programmer

We're currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Programmer to join a repair and manufacturing business based in Consett. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served CNC Turner with Mazak programming experience to join the production team and provide support within the CNC machine shop, operating and programming Mazak 200Y, Mazak 300Y and Mazak J300 5-axis turn/mill centres. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality components to drawing and instruction, working to tight tolerances and agreed production deadlines. Package - * £31,746.00 - £33,862.40 per annum, depending on skills and experience * 25% shift premium after successful completion of probationary period * 3% company pension contribution * Overtime rates applicable * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays * Cycle to Work Scheme * Radius Allowance based on commute to work miles * Death in Service Insurance * Income Protection Insurance Day Shift - Monday to Thursday 06:00 until 14:00 Friday 06:00 until 13:30 Back Shift - Monday to Wednesday 13:45 until 23:45 Thursday 13:45 until 22:45 Responsibilities - * Programme and operate Mazak CNC machinery within the machine shop * Work with Mazak 200Y, Mazak 300Y and Mazak J300 5-axis turn/mill centres * Produce components to engineering drawings and customer specifications * Complete machining within agreed production deadlines * Undertake turning and milling operations to the required tolerances * Machine components to general tolerances of approximately +/-0.1mm * Complete final machining to tighter tolerances, including 0.02mm where required * Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings * Use metric and imperial measurements as required * Apply knowledge of tolerances and, where applicable, geometric tolerances * Maintain a high standard of quality throughout the machining process * Work flexibly to meet customer delivery requirements, including breakdown situations * Work effectively as part of the production team The Ideal Candidate - * Time-served CNC Turner * Essential experience programming Mazak CNC machinery * Experience working within an engineering or production environment * Strong CNC turning and milling experience * Experience working to tight engineering tolerances * Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings * Good understanding of metric and imperial measurements * Knowledge of geometric tolerances would be advantageous * Good organisational skills and attention to detail * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Flexible approach to work and able to respond to changing production priorities * Able to work effectively under pressure to meet customer delivery requirements Kinetic plc is a Recruitment Consultancy with over 40 years' experience delivering staffing solutions to the engineering, manufacturing and technical industries.
