Pipefitter Welder

Pipefitter / Welder West Manchester (Irlam/Carrington) £35,000 Basic + Overtime (OTE £50,000+) + Annual Bonus Our client, a well-established engineering business based in the West Manchester area, are looking to recruit a Pipefitter/Welder to join their close-knit engineering team on a permanent basis. Working alongside another Pipefitter and within a team of six engineers, you'll carry out a mixture of pipefitting, fabrication and welding work, while also supporting the maintenance team with planned maintenance, breakdowns and site improvement projects. This is a varied, hands-on role with plenty of overtime available, allowing most engineers to earn around £50,000 per year. What's on Offer: * £35,000 basic salary * Typical earnings around £50,000 with overtime * Annual company bonus (subject to company performance) * Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sundays * Additional payments for confined space work * Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm * Regular overtime available before and after shifts (many engineers work approximately 7:00am - 5:00pm) and Saturday mornings * Full training provided for FLT, Confined Space and Cherry Picker licences where required The Role: * Pipefitting, fabrication and installation work * Welding using MIG and Stick (MMA) * Working on predominantly 2"-4" pipework * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings * Supporting the maintenance team with repairs and planned maintenance * Assisting with plant and equipment improvement projects About You: * Time-served Mechanical Engineer or Pipefitter with a recognised apprenticeship or engineering qualification * Experience of pipefitting and fabrication * Competent MIG and Stick (MMA) welder * Able to read engineering drawings * A team player with a flexible approach to supporting the wider engineering function If you'd like to find out more, apply today and I'll be in touch to discuss the role in more detail and answer any questions you may have.
