Welder/Fabricator

Our client, a manufacturing company in the Knutsford area, are looking for a Welder/Sheet Metal Worker/Fabricator to join their business. The role is permanent and will pay £30,000 per annum - this may rise to £32,000 or £34,000 with leadership experience. Looking to start ASAP! JOB PURPOSE: To provide sub-components, fabricated frames and guarding for the main works in accordance with detailed drawings and to agreed deadlines and quality standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Cut, form and drill sub-components up to inspection stage 2. Carry out dimensional inspection prior to welding 3. Carry out welding operation with allowances for distortion and shrinkage and consideration for final polishing operation. 4. Undertake plasma cutting operations in a safe manner when required. 5. Operate the press brake in a safe manner 6. Undertake internal inspection of all completed jobs prior to despatch to main site. 7. Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed promptly and accurately 8. Ensure that completed documentation is despatched with the finished components to the main works 9. Provide cover in the polishing area as required. Both in pre-polishing and final polishing when the need arises. 10. Maintain a clean and tidy work area on a daily basis 11. Ensure that scrap material is stored appropriately 12. Ensure that machines are left in a clean and safe condition 13. Assist colleagues with problems that arise offering practical and appropriate solutions. 14. Deal professionally, competently and courteously with suppliers and colleagues in verbal and written communications. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures and carry out all activities in a manner which is responsible and safe to yourself and others. 2. Develop positive relationships with all you come into contact with. 3. Contribute positively to my team and company morale and spirit. 4. Accept responsibility for the quality of your work and get it right first time. 5. To carry out any other duties as requested.
