My client based in Rowlands Gill are looking experienced Platers to join an expanding team with an immediate start available. The successful candidate will be taken on a permanent basis after a qualifying period. Package - * Salary is £16.50 per hour (PAYE only) * Monday to Friday * 07:30 until 16:00 * Enhanced pay rates available during the week, Saturdays and Sundays. Responsibilities - * Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. * Mark out, cut, shape, and assemble steel plate and structural sections using tools such as oxy-fuel burners, grinders, and plasma cutters. * Carry out tack welding and assist welders with joint preparation as required. * Perform fitting and alignment of assemblies to required tolerances. * Ensure dimensional accuracy and inspect completed work for quality and compliance. * Operate lifting equipment, such as overhead cranes and slings, in accordance with safety protocols. * Work safely at all times and comply with health, safety, and environmental policies. * Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve work processes and efficiency. Essential - * Proven experience as a Plater or Steel Fabricator in a heavy engineering or construction environment. * Ability to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings. * Skilled in the use of hand tools, flame cutting, grinding, and measuring instruments. * Good understanding of health and safety procedures, including safe use of lifting equipment. * Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances. * Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
