We are currently recruiting two Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians to join our Client. These roles are critical in ensuring maximum plant availability and supporting continuous improvement across site.
Position 1: Electrical Maintenance Technician
You will be a qualified electrician with strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance experience.
Key experience required:
* AC/DC motors and drives
* PLC-controlled equipment
* Electrical installations, repairs and upgrades
* Control panels, sensors, safety circuits and isolations
* Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
* Preventative and reactive maintenance
Position 2: Mechanical Maintenance Technician
You will have strong hands-on mechanical experience within a manufacturing environment.
Key experience required:
* Stripping and rebuilding plant equipment
* Drive trains including gearboxes, gears, belts, chains and bearings
* General plant machinery maintenance
* Replacing and repairing damaged components
* Basic welding and manual machining (desirable but not essential)
The Role:
You will be responsible for maintaining site plant and machinery to ensure maximum reliability and minimal downtime. The role includes proactive maintenance, process optimisation and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
You will support:
* Reduction of plant downtime
* SMED activities and process setup
* Health & Safety initiatives
* Continuous improvement projects
* Site-based engineering projects
Key Responsibilities:
* Work in line with all company policies (Health & Safety, Quality, HR and Environmental).
* Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and relevant legislation (HSE, COSHH, waste regulations).
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
* Support process setup and SMED improvements.
* Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth plant operation.
* Assist with audits, SOP reviews and accident/incident investigations.
* Contribute to reducing downtime and accident statistics.
* Complete assigned project work to schedule.
* Occasionally support other company sites when required.
Qualifications:
*City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience & Knowledge:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
* Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems.
* Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
* Good PLC fault-finding skills (basic programming knowledge advantageous).
* Experience working within small engineering teams.
* Understanding of continuous improvement tools and practices.
* Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality standards.
