Machine Operative

Kinetic plc are recruiting a reliable and hands-on Machine Operative to join a well-established engineering business based in Burnley. Responsibilities As a Machine Operative, you will: Load materials into CNC machinery and support general machining tasks Operate saws, select suitable blades, and check cut parts for accuracy Use grinding, fettling, and other hand tools to prepare or finish components Work from engineering drawings to carry out fabrication-related tasks Run equipment such as press brakes, rollers, and other fabrication machinery Deburr, clean, and inspect parts to ensure they meet required standards Use drilling, tapping, shot blasting, or similar finishing equipment Handle wet processes or chemical dips as part of finishing operations Operate press machinery and work with progression tooling when required Complete occasional basic data entry linked to production activities What We're Looking For Solid experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally engineering Confidence using CNC machines, saws, drills, and workshop tools Good written and spoken English Strong work ethic, reliability, and adaptability Willingness to learn and develop new skills Excellent attention to detail and quality Positive attitude towards teamwork and improvement Desirable (not essential): Experience with robotic welding, seam welding, or laser-based equipment Working Hours & Shift Patterns This role operates on a 38-hour week, and flexibility across multiple shifts is essential: Day Shift Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Twilight Shift Monday to Thursday: 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Friday: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Night Shift Monday to Thursday: 10:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. The post holder must be flexible and able to work across these shift patterns when required.
