Switchgear Fitter

Our client, based in the North Manchester area, require a Switchgear Low Voltage Fitter/Panel Builder. The role is mainly workshop based and will pay up to £45,000 per annum. You will be involved in all aspects of Switchgear assembly, wiring and testing. DUTIES: * Build and assemble LV switchgear following engineering drawings and busbar layouts. * Fit and secure electrical components such isolators, changeover switches, metering devices, surge protection devices and busbar systems. * Install and torque busbars, copper work, and interconnections to specified torque values and manufacturer standards * Carry out mechanical assembly including mounting plates, backplates, cable trunking, and enclosure frameworks. REQUIREMENTS: * Proven experience building LV switchgear, power distribution assemblies, or electrical distribution boards. * Good understanding of LV electrical distribution components and protective devices. * Ability to interpret single line diagrams, wiring schematics and busbar drawings. * Competent in handling and torquing busbars, cable terminations and power assemblies. Qualifications: * NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation / Electrical Engineering (or relevant apprenticeship).
