Assembly Operative

With a rich heritage spanning over a century, this organisation continues to innovate and expand, offering exciting opportunities for skilled professionals. We are currently supporting their recruitment drive for Assembly Operatives / Technicians to join their dynamic team at their UK site in Middleton. As an Assembly Operative, your duties will include: * Assembling mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies to precise specifications * Fitting and mounting components onto sub-assemblies * Bench working and electrical function testing * Conducting in-process inspections using technical drawings and visual aids * Utilising hand tools including Verniers, torque wrenches, and the latest Cleco system * Rotating across workstations with varying levels of complexity * Interpreting industrial-standard drawings and work instructions To be successful in this role, you should have: * Previous experience in mechanical assembly * The ability to work independently and meet deadlines * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Experience in high-volume assembly environments * A proactive attitude and strong work ethic * Proficiency with hand tools and an understanding of tool maintenance * The ability to read and interpret diagrams and schematics * A commitment to quality, with thorough checking of work during the build process * Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach What's on Offer: * Competitive hourly rate of £13.14 * Temp to Perm opportunity with performance-based bonuses upon becoming permanent * Working hours: Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 15:30, Friday finish at 13:00 * Free on-site parking * Access to canteen and kitchen facilities * Immediate start available This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company with a strong reputation in the industry.
