Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join their manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Turner to work within a high-quality engineering environment, producing precision components to exacting standards. CNC Turning experience is essential for this role. We are looking for previous experience setting and operating CNC turning machinery and be confident working from engineering drawings and to tight tolerances. You do not need to have previous CNC milling experience but you must be willing to learn and develop your skills across both turning and milling operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of allocated machinery, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer requirements are consistently achieved. Initial Shift Pattern Day Shift Monday to Thursday, 07:00 until 16:45 Pay rate: £16.46 - £18.46 per hour, depending on experience. Shift Opportunities - Once Fully Trained Following successful training and development, there will be opportunities to move onto enhanced shift patterns with increased pay rates. Day Shift Monday to Thursday, 07:00 until 19:00 17% shift allowance Example: £16.46 per hour increases to £19.26 per hour Night Shift Monday to Thursday, 19:00 until 07:00 36.29% shift allowance Example: £16.46 per hour increases to £22.43 per hour Key Responsibilities CNC Turning & Milling * Set and operate CNC turning machinery to produce high-quality precision components. * Develop knowledge and competence in CNC milling through company training and on-the-job development. * Work from engineering drawings and manufacture components to tight tolerances. * Complete accurate in-process checks throughout the manufacturing process. * Carry out first-off inspections and make machine/tooling adjustments where required. * Ensure components meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. * Maintain production targets, efficiency, quality, 5S and health & safety standards. Machine Set-Up & Production * Liaise with Tool Preparation Operatives to ensure materials and tooling are available when required. * Create and update CNC set-up sheets to company standards. * Ensure machines are set up within required target times. * Understand production requirements and work to agreed cycle times. * Produce components within agreed cycle times. * Dress and finish components as required. * Ensure all components are correctly identified and fully traceable. * Identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency and performance. Inspection & Quality Control Use a range of inspection equipment including: * Verniers * Micrometers * PI Tape * CMM * Inspection Arms Essential Skills & Experience * Previous experience setting and operating CNC Turning machinery * Strong CNC turning experience is required; this is not primarily a milling position. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. * Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards. * Competent using inspection and measuring equipment. * Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production targets. * Willingness to learn CNC Milling and develop into a multi-skilled machinist. * Ability to work safely, accurately and efficiently within a busy engineering environment.
