Kinetic are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator / Sheet Metal Worker / Plater for a Permanent role in Glossop, Derbyshire! Job Title: Fabricator Location: Glossop, Derbyshire Contract Type: Permanent Pay Rate: £17 - £20 Working Hours: 37.5 hours a week, completed over 4 OR 5 days, OT available on the Friday if hours completed by Thursday Overtime: Mon-Fri T1/3, Saturday T1/2, Sunday T2 Company Overview: Our client is a well-established engineering firm with decades of experience delivering high-quality mechanical fabrication and acoustic solutions across multiple industrial sectors. With a strong order book and growing demand, they are now looking to expand their team. Role Overview: As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for the manufacture and assembly of a wide range of bespoke metalwork, including ducting, tanks, vessels, and associated steel structures. You will be working from technical drawings, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Work will take place in the work shop and on-site with customer businesses (expenses paid for) Key Responsibilities: - Carry out high-quality plater or sheet metal work, including marking out, cutting, forming, and assembling components from stainless and mild steel. - Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings to fabricate precision components. - Operate a range of metalworking machinery such as press brakes, guillotines, rollers, and hand tools. - Perform welding tasks (MIG and/or TIG) where required - welding experience is a strong advantage. - Maintain excellent standards of workmanship and accuracy in all tasks. - Work independently and as part of a team to ensure projects are completed to schedule. - Adhere to all health & safety protocols and follow company procedures. Requirements: - Demonstrated experience in plater work or sheet metal fabrication within an engineering or manufacturing setting. - Skilled in interpreting and working from technical/engineering drawings. - Hands-on experience with fabrication tools and metal forming machinery - Welding proficiency (MIG and/or TIG) is highly desirable. - Strong commitment to precision and quality in all aspects of work. - Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team. - NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding or equivalent qualification is beneficial but not essential.
