Transport Consultant - 12 Month Contract
The Transport Consultant provides internal consulting, process design, and operational support expertise for transportation and outbound logistics processes across EMEA. The role supports business continuity, standardisation, and transformation initiatives by acting as a bridge between Logistics Operations and IT (DTS), with a strong focus on SAP-enabled end-to-end processes.
Key Accountabilities - Transportation Process & System Consulting
* Act as subject matter expert for transportation processes.
* Provide consultancy to Logistics Operations, DTS, and Managed Services for issue resolution and root cause analysis.
* Ensure adherence to standardised transportation and logistics execution processes.
Training & Operational Support
* Develop and maintain transportation process and system training materials.
* Deliver training to key users and end users on existing and newly implemented functionality.
* Support business readiness during enhancements, releases, and large system upgrades.
Continuous Improvement & Enhancements
* Propose and validate transportation-related process and system enhancements.
* Lead business design, testing, and implementation of approved enhancements.
* Apply LEAN methodologies to drive efficiency and standardisation.
Project & Transformation Support
* Provide SME input to strategic transportation and logistics projects.
* Support or lead projects prioritised by process councils or transformation programmes.
* Support business integration testing for large-scale system changes.
SAP & Digital Capabilities - Current State
* In-depth knowledge of end-to-end business processes and SAP.
* Experience with transportation management systems and their integration with other supply chain systems.
* Ability to support SAP-enabled logistics execution processes and issue resolution.
SAP S/4HANA Capabilities - Future State
* Understand S/4HANA impacts on transportation and logistics execution processes.
* Act as business counterpart for S/4-driven design and process decisions.
* Support end-to-end scenario testing (order to delivery to freight settlement).
* Identify process versus system gaps arising from S/4 standardisation.
* Contribute to UAT, cutover, and hypercare activities from a logistics perspective.
Experience & Skills
* Minimum 5 years relevant logistics or supply chain experience.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
* Proven ability to influence stakeholders across business and IT.
* Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
* EMEA based; travel to sites may be required.
Education & Languages
* Degree-level education preferred.
* Fluent English required; additional languages beneficial. Salary Neg.
