Security Officer

Security Officer wanted for a permanent contract in Gateshead. Full time position on site at our client's facility, working in a small team to cover security 24/7 365 days a year. As Security Officer you will be responsible for the security of the premises and people on site whilst working a continuous shift pattern ensuring 24/7 coverage. You must be extremely aware of your surroundings and be prepared to investigate and report anything that seems out of the ordinary. At times, this role will be the responsible person on site with overall authority. The Role: Secure premises and people by patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings. Monitor and authorise entrance of vehicles or people to site. Prevent losses and or damage by reporting issues to management or police as appropriate. Ensure the security and safety of all personnel, visitors and contractors on site. Monitor and update time and attendance system. Respond to emergency situations and liaise with emergency services as appropriate. Responsible person on site during unsociable hours to include regular site patrols, first of point of contact and to report any concerns to management. Fire evacuation roll call. Trained First Aider. Carry out drug and alcohol testing as required. Customer service activities such as answer internal and external telephone calls. All tasks to be completed in the safest manner, adhering to all health and safety rules and regulations. Carry out any other duties that may be required that are within the capabilities of the individual filling this role. Skills and Experience; Previous security experience is required. A thorough and keen attention to detail Self-motivated Excellent surveillance and observation skills Effective communication skills Ability to remain patient and calm under pressure.
