Maintenance Technician

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join an innovative, global manufacturing business based in Newton Aycliffe. The Maintenance Technician will receive a salary between £35,000 and £41,000 depending on experience plus 35% shift allowance. The Maintenance Technician will work 38.5 hours per week on a continental shift pattern. Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician: Attend equipment breakdowns and seek to reach resolution in a timely manner. Seek understanding of root cause for problems. Complete Planned maintenance against monthly plan. Act as initial mentor to trainee/apprentices. Complete shift reports within eMaint system and provide information by email regarding ongoing activity. Maintain critical spare stock levels. Desirable requirements of the Maintenance Technician: Fully competent in either mechanical or electrical maintenance including fault finding, repair and understanding schematics. Basic training and competency with pneumatic assemblies including fault finding, repair and understanding schematics. Basic training and competency of robotics and programming. Basic training and competency of laser technology and controls. ONC in relevant engineering discipline or NVQ Level 3 Maintenance/ Experience within FMCG or manufacturing environment. Actively manage critical spares including cycle counts and ensuring issue of supplies is carried out for shift. Liaise with production and provide accurate information regarding breakdowns and servicing to ensure plant operations remain efficient. Seek to use condition monitoring techniques for accurate fault analysis. Update planned schedules accordingly. Work with vendors during breakdowns and planned visits and arrange support out of hours. Proactively develop Maintenance Work Instructions to support creation and maintenance of procedure library. Actively seek root cause conclusions during equipment breakdowns. Fully competent in both mechanical and electrical maintenance including fault finding, repair and understanding schematics.
